Day 5: Bandeira - Valenca (22,5 km)

After an excellent breakfast we had to say good-bye to our Dutch host family. 2 steep climbing passages had to be passed and both hikers and bikers had their problems. after that we could enjoy our hike passing vinyards, forests smelling of eucalyptus trees and a hilly green countryside.
A preach transmitted by loudspeakers attracted our attention and led us to an ancient Roman church.After 7 long and exhausting hours I reached the medieval border town of Valenca. It turns out that so far every single day we hiked about 3 km more than expected. I can feel it in my legs today.
