Camino 2014

For the fifth time I am going to organize a hike4education - with a new formula in 2014. I  had an accident last August and broke both feet. Unfortunately I have not recovered so far to hike myself, revalidation will take another year.

Luckily Ellen van Warmerdam, teacher/section leader at Ignatius Gymnasium in Amsterdam, wants to “lend” me her feet. That’s fantastic news. In the course of 2014 Ellen will take part in a number of running events all over the Netherlands to help me raise funds for education projects in Guatemala.

Together with a group of High School students from Ignatius Gymnasium Ellen visited the orphanage in Guatemala in 2013. She saw the great work that is done in the home and she gladly wants to help improving education in the home in Guatemala.
NPH Guatemala, founded in 1996, will celebrate  its 17 th birthday. More and more children are reaching the age to go to secondary school or to start a study at the university. The school in our home stops after grade 3. To get a High School diploma the children have to attend neighboring schools. In 2014 we have 57 High School kids (costs: $52.683,- ) and 28 university students (costs: $ 79.000,-).
We want to help finance this important education project. Please join us in the benefit of talented kids who have no parents to bear the costs.

If you wish to support us funding this fantastic educational project, please make a donation.
