Update projects 2012
Herewith an update of last year's project: study finance of 3 talented young people of NPH Guatemala
Wilmer started studying in January. He loves his study (business administration) and is happy with his new life as a student. In May I was in Guatemala with a group of high school students from Amsterdam. Wilmer proudly showed me his heavy thick study books. His health is under control; Kim, volunteer from Holland, gives him fysiotherapy several times a week.
His brother Jacinto has been selected to be one of the 6 students from our NPH homes to attend the Leadership Program in Seattle, USA, for 9 months. What an honour and what a chance! Jacinto is staying with a host family in Seattle and will come back to Guatemala in July. He will start studying (informatica) in January 2014.
Last October Merida, aged 25, decided to leave the home in Guatemala after finishing her first year of study; she wants to live on her own. All talks to convince her to stay were in vain. According to the NPH rules study finance for her has stopped.
We will use all the funds of hike4education 2012 for the study finance of Wilmer and Yacinto. (Covering the costs for about 3 study years for both of them).
