Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Dear Friends,

looking back at 2012  I'm very grateful: thanks to your generous donations        (Euro 8.870,-) you enabled me to improve the quality of education in our home in Guatemala. 3 talented young people will get the chance to study and fulfil their dreams.
For more information about Wilmer and Jacinto see the film

I'm also thrilled to report that fundraising actions of Ignatius Gymnasium and other donors in Amsterdam helped realize a number of education projects:
-   schoolbooks for 5 subjects;
-   the construction of the Montessori playground;
-   furniture for the Montessori preschool;
-   computers and beamers for primary and secondary school.
We are making big progress, but it's still a long way to go.

In October I visited the home in Guatemala and attended the graduation ceremony. 40 young people passed grade 3 secondary school; they would like to continue with High School education which is  so important for their future! The school in our home does not offer High School education, therefore the students must attend schools in the neighbouring towns.The costs are about Euro 1.000,- per student per year. I hope that also in 2013 I can count on your support.
