Hostals can be very noisy in Spain because of their location. Tonight I slept next to the parish church. The church bells kept ringing every 30 min. I thought of climbing up the bell tower, fastening the bells so that they could not ring any more and that there would be silence at last. But unfortunately this was only a thought...
BUT
As a sort of compensation I had a fantastic day.
Sunshine outside. A tough program: 400 m uphill and 1000 m downhill in spectacular landscape, it felt like paradise. For hours I hiked through a breathtaking landscape, a wild mountain region before I arrived in Molinaseca. The hike remembered me of my holidays in La Gomera. Unfortunately the battery of my camera was empty all of a sudden, Lucie will send me her photos after the hike.
In Molinaseco my place to stay for the night a big surprise was waiting for me; before I always slept in very tiny rooms (7-8 m2), but today I slept in the Palace of the family Alfonso Rojo, a famous Spanish writer. My room has about 42 m2. what a luxury !!
I forgot to mention "El Cruz del ferro", a place where pilgrims leave behind a stone they brought from home. This is ment to be a symbolic act to demonstrate that you don't need many things.(Unfortunately some people leave behind their rubbish and worn-out shoes etc.) I had a little rest deciding to leave behind all the nonsense in the world.
