Day 10: Molinaseca - Cacabelos (23 km)

My last day of this tour and my last day before finishing the whole Camino - to be honest: I felt a little bit melancholic in the morning. Today's program was a bit boring; hiking along the road most of the time, street villages with lots of traffic, the last km through vinyards. The highlight was Ponferrada with its old Castle of the Templers.

Once again the temperature went up and up, once in a while I came across full water bottles in front of houses for thirsty pilgrims. What a nice tradition.

Today I came across several high crosses with Jacobus (Santiago) on one side and Jesus on the back side; this is typical for Galicia.

I made it and after about 780 km I fell very happy and grateful.
Miles gracias Espana:for this great hiking trail in northern Spain and for its people, for all their hospitality and kindness.
Thank you Maarten Schuth for teaching me how to handle my weblog!
Thank you PILGINO travel agency from Germany (Ansgar and Kerim) and the members of Tour 3-1 for all your mental and logistic support and friendship.
Thank you WereldOuders in Hilversum for the lovely cooperation !!
Thank you and a big hug to all the donors who are helping me finance the studies of 3 great young people in Guatemala.
And above all a big hug to my husband Willem for all his mental support, the encouragement to do such events and his overwhelming donations over the years. I hope that one day you will accompany me to do at least a small part of the Camino to experience how it feels.

Saludos - abrazos - sonrisas - BUEN CAMINO

I never forgot the purpose of my hike4education 2011: studie finance for 3 orphans in Guatemala.
